Ive got a V7 stone 2023. i want to do a wide front end. with a fat tire up front. Like a 180/16. Does anyone know how might have triple trees to fit the v7 stone. I know Guzzi has a Bobber which is sorta a wider appearance. And i think these guys that host this Forum have a bike with a wide tire set up.
Any suggestions on what triple trees i might need to source for the V7 Stone. Or do i have to have custom trees made? Plus fork length i might need.
thx Big Tx

Depends on how much you want to spend. It’s just me that runs this Forum. I’ll guess you saw my V9 Bobber to V7 body conversion. Best bet would be to purchase the Bobber triples, and the forks are longer, though not necessary. You can probably go 150 width, but no way 180 unless you want to go full custom and big $. Budget for the project?

Might wanna go custom on the trees. Note that you ABS/TC may not play nice if you change the overall OD of the front tire or change the tone ring. V9 bobber uses a 130 on a 16" wheel but I dont know the wheel width offhand.
Thank you JStorm. Yes i will prolly need to get a new set of triple trees for the wide glide set up on the front. Gonna try and get that Brat Style look. I dont think its been done on a V7. Check out Thornton Hundred site. They are doing a wide tire builds on the Triumph Bobber which looks pretty good.

Any reason in particular.
Like the Bobber look ?
You can’t go as wide as you would like on the existing wheel ?
Agreed. Yes i want to try a different look than usual on the V stone 2023. With a wide adventure tire. Yes the whole front end will need to be switched up even the wheel. Ive bought new Head covers. There graphite colored ones instead of the black that come with the bike. I bought a new cafe racer fairing to put on it. New X style headlight. Will repaint bike. Going to different controls as well. The clean push button kind. Will try and put a rear cowl on the v7. So just changing up a few things to make it have the Brat style.

Yes i saw your bike. Looks pretty awesome. I think the wide tire look on the v7 is a perfect set up. Will need wider trees for sure. And new rims and tire to pull the look off. Gonna use and adventure tire for Continental or Michelin.

Back in the day (30-some yrs ago), a high school buddy of mine made a bunch of wide glide kits for Sportsters. Triple trees, brake brackets, wheel spacers and axles, headlight brackets, etc. Having his own machine shop helped! I had him make a custom rear engine mount for a Triumph drag bike i rebuilt.
