V7 sport quits and eventually restarts problem help

If you have a copy of Dave Richardson's Guzziology, you may want to search there for a possible resolution to your V7 Sport's starting problem. Section 17-20 in Version 8.0 of Guzziology has a section titled "Back-up start switch for loop frames, V7Sport, 750 S and 850-T models". As an aside, a similar starting problem on my 2006 Norge was resolved when I installed an additional relay and re-routed wires (can't remember how its been so long ago) between the ignition switch, the battery, a ground, the solenoid, the starter and the connectors on the original relay. Apparently, Norge starting problems were common and some Texas firm developed a solution. I bought the kit, installed it (came with wires, connectors, a relay, instructions) and never looked back.

Frank, a west coast Guzzi rep performed that same process on a couples Norge while they were at the Broken Arrow gathering this summer in Southern Idaho. They'd come down from Alberta and were as happy as everyone else there when the mod worked from the moment it was first used .

You did not install an additional relay. The kit from MPH uses the original relay but provides sufficient current for the starter solenoid to engage the starter. The Norge is a very different system from the Tonti frame V7 sport.
