V7C Corrosion problem

Looking at my V7C, and I noticed a similar problem. Rust peppering on a mirror stem! It looks like dirt, until you try to wipe it off. Bike is housed in a semi-heated garage, and I avoid rain (don't we all).

The rust looks like the plater didn't do a good job in prepping the piece for plating. It's really aggravating to see the rust come through the chrome.

a friend of mine is a car painter and suggested since i'm going to put a replica 750s paint job on it i might just get the cylinders heads and fuel filler parts adonised black ... might fix the problem :D
 
Do it! The all black look is good. I had my Stucci rear rack powdercoated black because that's the direction I'm going. Just post some pics when you're done.
