Hi guys,

Noob first bike owner alert.. apologies if I'm posting to the wrong place.

As I was getting the grime off my rear wheel (Looks like I've got a leaky drive) I saw some rust inside the drive.. what is this? Is it something I need to fix?

I've also attached images of the fluid drips on my rear wheel. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I had similar problem on my V7 III Special. It was still under warranty so the dealer replaced the seal which was the problem. Looks like you'll have to do that. Make sure you do not overfill the oil!

Apparently is a known issue that occurs randomly - maybe a 'monday' bike.

The interesting thing was that the mechanic found that the bevel gear was out of alignment slightly and re-shimmed it, which explained why spinning the rear wheel when off the ground was 'notchy'. It was good after that.
