Hey all, first thread here and first Guzzi so be gentle since I’m new to these things!

I got a V7iii Stone not long ago and want to change up a few things aesthetically. Namely, I want to give some parts a nice brushed steel look instead of the blackout treatment the Stones get. I also got a grab rail off of a donor bike and that looks to be plated/ chromed steel, but I’m not sure.

If I happen upon any other shiny bits from other donor bikes, I’d like to know what is chromed and what is polished so I know how to treat them afterwards and keep the corrosion down.

I’m pretty much giving this bike the same treatment Triumph is giving their bonnies and I’m not going to mix words, I like sheen over shine and I like both over blacked out.

Congrats and welcome to the GT Forum & Guzzi Famiglia. Love to get your VIN# and related on the Registry thread here; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/v7-registry-picture-thread-add-your-bike.9108/ -- Since you're in L.A., if I can be of any help with anything service, fabrication, metal prep, etc at my shop in O.C, click on the SERVICE link above.

Per the paragraphs at the top of the page, search is your friend, i.e. https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/too-much-flat-black.21945/

On my V7III Stone I did quite a lot of "brightening up". Here's a pic. I like it better now. I wanted the Milano model but none were available when I was ready to buy.

Most likely ceramic coating. I've done a few of my motorcycles with Jet Hot Coatings and have been immensely satisfied. My Stelvio has pictures here on the forums of it.

I wasn't sure that I would like the matte silver look so I used the simplest and least expensive method of Rustoleum Hi Temp silver spray, about $7 at the hardware store. I like it and it's held up OK so far. If it get's scratched or scraped touch up is simple.

Wow! It looks better in the photo than I would expected it to. You must have taken great care in your technique and cleanliness. Kudos!

I kinda shy away from the VHT because the lack of a grain structure gives it an odd sheen in my eyes. I prefer actual brushed metal, it just has more presence to me.

man I was searching for a ton of key words to find a thread for this! Thanks!

And I really do want to stop by your shop, but I’ll hold off on that til I got some extra “hooligan money” if you get what I mean.

Would you mind sharing which rear stand that is? I assumed it was the pit-bull one, but everything I hear says that stand only fits on V7/V7II. Thanks!
