V7lll ABS fault

My v7 developed an ABS fault the bike failed to stop after starting and pulling away.
Braking from about 7 mph the brake lever was solid to pull then released and gave the feeling ABS was activated taking about 20 ft to stop.
Think it's an ABS control unit fault (any advice would be appreciated)
As I'm planning a trip to Portugal from the UK in 20 days would removing the ABS fuse totally deactivate the ABS enabling me to do the trip if an ABS repair cannot be completed it time.
As you will know paggio and parts can take a long time to arrive

It may not be an electrical issue. Trailer this bike to a dealer. It is unsafe to ride. Brakes are an absolute necessity.
 
It's going to be looked at on Thursday.
I was thinking if it was an ABS control modulater fault this part could possibly take a long time to arrive from Italy . Therefore removing the ABS fuse would this make the bike operate with normal brake function but without ABS

Is your ABS or TC light staying on? If you can get the rear wheel off the ground to do a spin test/brake check, and check the sensor wires for damage. The rear calipers are known to self destruct when the pads get low and hot. It’s shocking how many bikes we see (at my shop) that are metal to metal. Pulling the fuse will disable the system, yes, as a test only. Be sure they do a Diagnostic check too. I try to keep a caliper in stock during the Summer months, link below.

 
Yes the traction control light and abs came on then traction control light went off just before I stopped. ABS light staying on, the bike was running lovely 230miles into the ride back home.
The rear wheel spins freely and brakes work, no visible damage to sensors. Pads and caliper all good.
Your help is much appreciated
 
Did the check after, exactly the same solid lever then lever pulls back, braking like abs activated comes to a scary on off jerking stop.
It's almost like the bikes abs is confused hard to describe

ABS equipped motorcycles are EXTREMELY SENSITIVE to voltage. A very large percentage of ABS errors or erratic behavior can be traced to battery and/or charging issues.

Before anything else, I would remove the battery, and take it to a local auto parts store where most all will perform a “Battery Load Test” on the battery for free.

If it fails a load test, I would replace it and then perform the calibration procedure again and see what results.

The other thing to check which I gave seen a million times, is a significantly overfilled brake fluid reservoir. For some reason beyond my understanding, people feel compelled to fill these to the top, leaving no room for expansion or proper return of the excess fluid back into the reservoir.

Also, it is always helpful if you list the year and exact model of motorcycle you are asking about. 👌👍🙏

The battery is good. brake fluid half way between min and max as good as
