Hi,
New to the forum. I have a 2013 V7R and wondering if anyone has experience with installing a larger oil sump on the bike. Also considering an ebay oil temp. gauge and don't know if they are worth it.
My MGV7R runs much hotter than my last bike-(Ducati M900) and I want to avoid frying the oil. It's very hot down here in summer.
Also noticed the clutch cable was running through the right-hand cylinder fins and the plastic outer has split. Worth checking if you have a V7.
Cheers

I have been using the Oil Temp gauge from eBay (simonchantw_gmail) on my '04 Breva 750 for about 90 days now.

Build quality is of the instrument is high. Markings on the dipstick matched the stock ones exactly. I darkend the hi/lo grooves with a magic marker to make them easier to see.

The baby Brev seems to read out at about 190 deg F on the dial no matter what the ambient air temp.

The clear liquid filling inside the dial face is gradually vaporizing away. This does not seem to be adversely affecting anything however.

Dial cannot be seen while riding, and use caution checking oil level just after a ride because of burn danger.

A "Buy" overall, I'd say.

Just recently got the sump extender kit for my V7R from Todd. Was the very first upgrade I did. Simple installation and perfect fit. The engine now has 2.5L of oil.
