My 2019 model has been running Kappa panniers for 10000km. Their frame is mounted to 4 points on the bike. Today I discovered a crack by the lower screw on the passenger footpeg bracket. one of the places it mounts. The peg bracket has become loose and rattles, so I have to get a new one.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

I am wondering if it is due to load. I bought it of a guy who had ridden a lot with a passenger and lots of baggage. Or maybe it's due to vibration?

Take a look at your bike and tell me If you have the same fault.

Hard to say what may have caused the crack. When mounting saddle bag brackets to the foot peg support sometimes washers need to be added or the saddlebag mount needs some tweaking so as to not stress the peg bracket of the bike. When you install the replacement peg support take notice of the saddle bag mount alignment so there isn't stress imparted to the support.

Yes, I had to significantly ”adjust” the left saddle bag bracket using a big bench vise and long pry bar to make the bolt holes line up so there would not be undue stress on the aluminum bracket.
