Not from me, but yet more data to share on how detrimental the factory 85TT fueling is, as I’ve been repeatedly saying here since 2019. The words below are not likely a true AFR, as my bet is they had the SAS system in place. My data is no where as extreme, but still very bad, which shows why using our SAS Kit for AFR testing and correction is mandatory.
See THIS thread to resolve it, and enjoy your TT massively more, without torturing it to failure.

I’ve come across some credible data that raises serious concerns about the V85TT’s factory fueling setup. It seems the manufacturer may have compromised the engine’s health in favor of meeting emissions standards, effectively using their customers as guinea pigs, accountable for damage this setup is causing (in time).

HERE'S THE ISSUE:
• The commonly accepted “healthy” air/fuel ratio (AFR) for (liquid-cooled) gasoline engines is 14.7:1, ensuring a balance between performance, emissions, and engine durability.
• Shockingly, the V85TT is reportedly running at an AFR up to or more of 22:1 under certain conditions!

This ultra-lean mixture is far outside normal parameters and could lead to overheating, reduced engine life, and potentially catastrophic damage. Manufacturers may adopt such aggressive AFR settings to meet strict emissions standards, but doing so at the expense of the engine’s reliability is unacceptable—especially without informing/warning buyers.

WHY THIS MATTERS:
Running at 22:1 is not just a slight abuse; it’s extreme. Engines running this lean are more prone to:

• Overheating: Higher combustion temperatures can damage components over time.
• Knocking or Pinging: Dangerous detonation that can destroy pistons and cylinders.
• Reduced Power: A lean mixture typically compromises performance.

Very interesting - where do you think you see this all heading toward, Todd?

Being able to correct for these more and more aggressive emissions regulations has been a factor in my vehicle purchases since I was made aware of the impact these regs are having.

I've felt lucky that for any smog checks motorcycles have been exempt, I'd hate to see overly aggressive regulations that we aren't able to correct for because of local emissions testing.

EVs. ;)
I live in one of the strictest states, and thankfully probably some of the loosest enforcement and zero testing.

Last Sunday a friend let me test ride his V-85TT. Put it in sport mode.. I was quite impressed with the whole package, and I find the looks of the V7 series quite appealing.
Reading this, it looks like I will be "stalled" on my 2 Carcs for a few years yet. Without liquid cooling, running that lean, something's gotta give, most likely after the 2 year warranty is up 👎
