I have a problem adjusting my instrument lighting ('27 Roamer) as the manual refers to it but the adjustment is unavailable on the dash. I have searched for "Instrument Lighting" and only found a few posts unrelated to this issue. If you could give me advise as to where I should direct my question, I would appreciate it.

Go to the downloads section and get the service manual and any other documents for the V9.
Here's what it says about instrument lighting.

"Instrument backlighting adjustment"
Backlighting of instruments and gauges (needles of scales and displays) can be ad-
justed at three levels.
This parameter may be adjusted during the initial check cycle. Press the centre of the
"MODE" selector briefly to access the function. Press the "MODE" selector up or down
to cycle through the three levels available:
- 1 (Minimum)
- 2 (Medium)
- 3 (Maximum)
After three seconds with no input from the "MODE" selector, or once the vehicle speed
exceeds 5 Km/h (3.11 mph), the value is stored and the display returns to trip journal
mode.

Thanks, Dave. I have the manual and have tried this to no avail. I'll try it again at the "initial check cycle," which I can only assume is right before or after startup. If there is a trick here, please let me know.
