Hey Guy's,
At first I thought this was a one off but this has happened several times and I've grown suspicious.
First thing if I rev the throttle and not even on a cold start it's sounds as if the engine stalls or skips.
Secondly when I was pulling away in first the engine lights came on and the bike was jerky like it wasn't getting enough fuel. I've been riding for over 30 years so I'm pretty sure it's not me. Could this be a problem with the intake valve? The thing is a normal running speed I don't witness any of these problems...In the meantime .I'm saving money for Todd's ECU Tool.

Any advice?

Best Mitch

Hi Mitch, so the new bikes are heavily electronically dependent, in addition to being sensitive to general service. What is your valve lash currently? Last reset of the TPS? All critical items. Also, do you have the evap system on your bike? Stock exhaust?
Last item is equally important... do you let the speedo needle sweep first before starting and zero throttle?

Thanks for the quick reply. When I took my bike in for its first maintenance the mechanic said he’d check the valves next time... which made me suspicious.
I have a European model 2017 so can you tell me if I have an EVAP? I replaced the stock exhaust with Agostini short pipes. I was at Agostini in Mandello and they told me I needed no further setup. I always let the bike warm up and never start the bike before the systems check....

Yes, valve lash is likely off, and reset of the TPS often is mandatory. I would need a photo under the transmission/gearbox to tell you if you have the evap system.
A bone stock bike needs fueling revisions, so while companies who sell intake and exhaust products tell you it's fine, based on scientific A/F data, this is simply not the case. Fix the fueling ASAP.

And of course a very big thank you!!!
