What Bottom Triple Tree?

Please help. I have a front fork setup modified to fit a Rickman CR 750 frame. The lower triple tree is damaged
and I need to know what is a compatible replacement. It' a 38mm tube diameter, about 195mm on center with what looks like a 65mm offset to the stem. There's no part number but the upper tree is #17493160. Thanks in advance.
 
Your situation looks a bit confusing. The wheel is of the T, T3, or G5 type which had 35mm forks. I think the first 38mm forks were on the MkIII Lemans and SPIII. My recommendation is to look at part manuals for these bike for the upper clamp. Once you have the upper, the lower will be listed. That said, some machinist may have been at work and modified 35mm clamps to fit 38mm tubes, or even played with the angles. Thanks very much for the info. The upper triple tree part# is 17493160, for 1979 to 1983 1000 SP. So the lower tree part# is 18494061. From what I read today they are for the 38mm fork tube. Now all I have to do is find one.
 
You may be able to order one from a dealer. That way what you get will be undamaged. Pricy, but undamaged.
