where does this hose go?

Took off tank and unsure where to place this hose that I am thinking is from the top of the transmission on top and is black? I am hoping it is not suppose to be connected to gas tank or is it a breather of some kind? i have it routed down to where the clear air box oil drain line is also behind the right side peg. You can see it clearly just behind the brake fluid cap. It is under and behind the airbox snorkles above - Thanks

Gearbox vent hose. I guess OK to go down, but on older Tonti bikes the vent line goes up so if any oil does go up the hose, it goes back down when the gearbox cools.
 
Thanks John, that makes more sense seeing that I found it loose under the airbox and nowhere to attach so made sense it was a breather of somekind. This is a 07 Norge.
