WHERE IS THE Best MG PARTS SUPPLY LOCATED

Has anyone located the best Moto Guzzi parts supplier across North America . I'm in need of exhaust gaskets. They blew out and I need a couple - did a quick fix with fiberglass and heat resistant cement but it blew out shortly after. Any recipes would help. Heats seems to be a issue and I'm thinking the O2 sensors are not reading properly. Plus a slight hesitation between 4500 and 5500 rpm to the point of being similar to a valve floating. Let off on the throttle and it picks back up and doesn't happen again.
The little red light flashes up as well.
Other than that the issues have been managable - my Hidenaus are coming up to 18000km, with 1/4 inch depth on the tread and I'll likely re-grove the center band to get by for the rest of the season. A new grinding wheel on my 4 inch grinder does a great job of freshing up the grooves. ;)
 
Best is probably not a good description, but there are several good suppliers. The ones I'm aware of and use are Harper's, MG Cycle, Rider's Hill, MPH, Moto International, and Joe Eish in no particular order. I'm sure there are more I'm not aware of.

If you are ordering into Canada my choice is MPH. The will ship USPS with tracking so no brokerage charges and for the most part gets through without taxes and duty. I have tried to order from MG into Canada and for a couple of filters (oil/air) and some odds and ends the 5lb package was going to cost me like $80 to $90 to ship because they only deal with UPS to Canada. Same package from MPH was $20 to ship and at my door in three days. There is a slightly cheaper option with UPS but no tracking or insurance. Too bad though, MG stocks a lot of stuff.

You can try Corsa Meccanica just outside of Toronto. They have a new ordering site up and running. Just not sure how stocked they are this early in the game.


For a quick fix, fiber glass wrap (used for autobody repair,, thicker the better) does work (from experience). Best option is to wrap it around the end of the pipe the same thickness as the gasket. Then insert the pipe into the cross over and clamp it down. Once it is installed, wrap a couple of wraps around the joint between the crossover and the pipe and then use a hose clamp to keep it in place. Will prevent it from blowing out. The best stuff is header wrap that is used to wrap exhaust pipes if you can find it. It is a long term solution.

MPH was my first choice before the greatest Guzzi parts guy on the planet, Todd Haven, passed away a couple of years ago.

Since then -- tho I remain fond of MPH --I have spread my Guzzi dollars among MGCycle, http://www.mgcycle.com; Moto-International, https://www.motointernational.com (gotta love that homepage pic); AF1, https://www.af1racing.com/, & Harpers, http://www.harpermoto.com.

What canuck1969 said, above, about MPH may be something to think about given your location in the Philippines.

I suggest Harper's Moto Guzzi. MG Cycle, Rider's Hill, MPH, Moto International all contact them to get help on ordering parts. I was at Harper's in July this summer (to get a broken California exhaust repaired) and Curtis Harper showed me some examples of requests for help from the "parts guys" at various MG dealers around the country.
 
Depends on what bike you own. Pre-CARC bikes would be most listed above. Older machines usually best suited to Harpers or MGCycle. MPH (Mike P Haven) is no longer a dealer, but was easily one of the best for a long time. For new bikes, AF1 seems to rule. They even started stocking some of my offerings. High volume dealers are the ones that can get things quickly. Local dealers need to be supported though, don't forget that simple fact, else they won't be there when you need them.
 
Since you are in BC, check out Chilliwack Motorcycles, formerly Valley Yamaha/Moto Guzzi. now MG only.
Gord Hill is known all around as a caring and skilled mechanic. They have many years experience with MG.
The larger one-brand American dealers always seem to have anything and everything in stock, but shipping can be expensive on smaller items.
My $85 TPS (from a Ducati specialist in SoCal) cost $42 USPS standard International shipping, but Hey...they had it. BC tax will often be collected at the border, but UPS also charges a "Brokerage Fee" for that service.,
Plan ahead and stock up on essentials like gaskets and filters etc. to make the order worth you while.
All the dealers mentioned above have been nothing but excellent in my limited experience with them.
If you wrap a rope around your rear tire, you should be OK for the winter, with the amount of snow you get up there:D
