Does it matter which way the double seal is placed on a Breva?

Being a double seal it has springs visible both sides. One side has the writing and I guess this up as I have always assumed it sits upward facing. The lower seal in that case, has a wider taper than the top side.

I think it does matter.
I can't remember which side was up when I replaced mine last year, but do remember that the first time I put them it I didn't pay attention and just installed them the way that made the most sense to me. They leaked.
So I bought new seals and put them in the other way.
I think there is a bevel on one side of the seal (outside portion of the seal). The first time I put that side down, into the fork itself, as it went in easier that way.
It's possible I was just hamfisted, there are plenty of people here who have more experience than me so hopefully they'll comment.

Thank you for your post. You say the bevel on the outside. That would be the side without writing. Opposite from what I thought. I found some info doing a search
There is normally a wider band on the outside running around the outer circumference. The band should be a the bottom. Placing the writing on the top

I'm still not sure.

That makes sense to me. I think I originally put it in upside down because the bevel on the top side slides down into the fork lower easier. I was much better at it the second time around and things went much faster.

Just has this confirmed by a UK dealer for NOK.
"Yep, the writing faces towards the handlebars on conventional forks and towards the wheel on USD forks."
