Ciao à tutti!

Name is Arnaud living in Paris. Have had around 15 bikes ranging from xsr 700 to BMW boxers.
I am looking for advice regarding a V7 and which one to get notably regarding reliability, agility and fun for an everyday motorcycle mainly used in Paris and urban area.

I am looking for a fun and agile motorcycle off the stop light and to be able filter efficiently.

I have had a bonneville 900 and I like the immediate torque but less the feeling past 5000 rpm.

I had the 1200 cc from Triumph both in T120: too lazy to spin and not agile enough
Speed twin 1200 : poor injection and turning radius

So I am wondering which generation of V7 give the most fun at 2000-3000 rpm - read immediate torque and take off - and a satisfying feeling when going up the RPM range.

I tested extensively the v7 850 and I felt it was somewhat lacking at the bottom but going all the way up the RPM range felt good.

Also I am not after crazy amount of horsepower because it would mean the impossibility to rev the engine close to redline.

Which generation would you recommend v7, v7 II, v7 iii or thé v7 850?

Many thanks for your input or your shared experience

I have in sight 2 v7:

- A v7 II : excellent condition with 7500 miles for 4000 euros
- a v7 IV : new with 750 miles for 6000 euros

What Raven said. These are big bore, short stroke engines. You could run the 850 at 3500 in the first three gears, but, 4000+ is where they run freely.
FYI, I know prices run differently there, but $4000 for a nine-year old bike is nuts!
