I have a cople wire wheels from an 1979 Califonia 1000 who I want to use at my (1980) SP coffee proyect, What is the widest rear wheel rim possible working well at the SP1000??

Cheers
Jan

Yes and no!
Knowing rim size you know what tyre to fit, Or knowing what tire you also knows what rim fits correctly..
As I will put on 17" wire wheels rear and front at my bike i`m a bit lost if dont have a clue how much space aviable in an old Guzzi!

Do you have the Rims to be able to test fit on them SP cafe project ?
The front is easy to take on / off.
the rear is a bit more fooling around.

I'm sure it will be taken apart and put back together many times before its is finished.

If they are stock wire wheels from Guzzi they are 18" and you will be limited by swingarm and width of the rim. I ran 130/80 18" on my SP 1 and also on the SP3. Same w/my LM3.
I put 150's on a friends LM4 but that swingarm has a flat spot for wider rim.
My California 2 has a 130/80 on it also.
