2023 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone Special Edition

In English, we call those pipes, the exhaust headers which then go back to connect to the exhaust canister.

😆👌👍🙏🤞

It`s hard for non-english speakers to find the right words. What I have seen those can be called headers, collectors and exhaust manifolds :D And then there is mufflers/silencers and db-killers/baffles etc. :D

But after all it`s most important that we understand each other. United by one, divided by zero 💪

Headers come off of the valve head. They go down and curve back where there is usually a cross pipe, also called an H pipe, this then continues into the catalytic converter or collector, which then connects to the exhaust pipe or muffler. 😁

English is a convoluted language at best. 😩

I totally agree with you and that`s how I have understood different parts. English is a good language and personally I think there should be only english :D That way all the people could understand each other and it would be much harder to wage war etc. Thank god we have education system that forces to learn english. Though most of my english I have learned from games and music :D

But to stay in the topic; Nothing special in Finland. Looks like next week is the week to start the season. After that there will be a lot of modding and installing :) I wanted to try the stock again before doing any mods so I can really feel the difference.

I've gotten to the point where I'm finding the Arrow cans (mufflers, silencers) just too darned loud (yes, I wear earplugs, 33 db reducing, and full face ARAI), and it gets tiring on longer rides, so I'm thinking of replacing them with "normal" V7 mufflers, and I guess I'd have to find the correct hangers (passenger peg brackets). Would it take a different ECU mapping?

These things are invidual but what kind of earplugs are you using ? That sounds more like a earplug problem than silencer problem. Arrows have very modest sound and I`m going to drill the db-killers off to get little more sound.
I don`t know do they sell "Alpine motosafe" earplugs in your country but they are very good. Can`t link them here but you can check them out with Googling and try to find something similar. I have used them for ages and change them every two-three years to new ones.
And my ears are fine :D I work in the enviroment where noises are up to 100dB so we have regular hearing checks every twelve months. They say molded earplugs are even better, but I have no experience about those. I`m going to order molded ones for this summer.

My previous bike was with straight pipes and it was definitely too loud. Caused dizziness after long rides but it just didn`t run well with db-killers.

Thanks for the note re. earplugs. I'm using

Pura-Fit® Disposable Earplugs – NRR 33dB

"All Moldex hearing protection is independently tested to ANSI S3.19-1974"

Foam plugs are usually rubbish. Try something like those "Alpine motosafe" plugs and if it doesn`t solve the problem then try the moulded plugs. Arrows are very modest because they have to meet the regulations.
