• NOTICE: The owner of this website and GTMotoCycles.com completely lost his home on the morning of January 8th in the L.A. Wildfire Storm. Most of his neighborhood is gone, and a few friends were killed along with their pets. The GTM SHOP and STORE are functioning normally, but we DEMAND EXTREME PATIENCE on orders as we are a SMALL business and Todd usually has his hands on nearly every order before it goes out. You can find more info on a post named L.A. Wildfires in the USA section. Our heart and best go out to everyone effected in this horrific disaster.

User Code - Programming Procedure Help (again)

The user code is only used if the key fits the bike, ie turns on the ign but is not programmed to the bike or the receiver coil is faulty around the lock, my keys are programmed to the bike. My other bike which has a valid user code doesn't bring up the request for a user code

User Code - Programming Procedure Help (again)

I recently purchased another Breva 1100 and removed the old user code and put in 00000, now when I turn on the ign it asks for a user code, it disappears as soon as I touch the mode button or move trip 1 to trip 2. It starts and runs fine and but I dont think you can have all zero's. I'll put in...

Thanks Peter. I’m guessing your user code is 00000. As long as you’re using your original keys, you’d never need to know that.

Interesting. Why and how did you do that? If the need for a user code can be removed, would that negate the need for key programming?

Where can I get a spare key made?

Yes you really need the user code. It can save a lot of grief and expense. I had a key cloned last year at the one locksmith in a 100 mile radius that could do it. The cloned key works but I can still not retrieve or set the user code for some reason. It's a great relief just having the 2 keys...

I know it can be a little nerve-racking to send such a valuable piece of your motorcycle off into the unknown. I had good results with Carmo Electronics. I would have preferred to NOT need them or better yet have a dealer/manufacturer who had a clue as how to "reboot" the dash to OEM...
