Time for new tires on the V7.
Any problem with having the front forks on a platform and the rear supported on stand , the whole thing attached to a wall :)
( there is a picture the it strapped to wall here someplace.)
Thanks,
Don
Indeed « Technically » a lot of engineering went into designing it all to fit in that space was based on some criteria !
Ease of service wasn’t Job #1 :wasntme:
Oh - back to maintenance stuff got a moment , so when I was out looking for information about bleeding the brakes, it referred to the BMW brake bleeding tool required - I blindly bought it - without actually looking at the bike.
DUH !! Normal bleeders on All the calipers
Yesterday I was...
Dropped the forks 15mm , measured using GrandPa’s vernier caliper ;)
I’ll need a buddy to check and adjust the sag.
Just to make sure I understand this:
You want to take measurements for the front at the static “height” and the rider compressed “height”
And adjust the rear suspension to match...
Did the brake flush today at the local BMW tech day, a precursor to a rider training day.
I had flushed the back when I did the peg lowering kit.
But the front fluid looked like Pepsi coming out !
If they have ever been bleed in the last 25 years it wasn’t often
Matris V7 Fork Spring Kit with Adjusters
simply installing them was such an improvement
I didnt want to make a changes without understanding what I was doing.
GTW 2WS Twins -
I left them the way they were set when they arrived.
So I’ve been Out on all three bikes a couple of times this season.
I find the V7 very unnerving on really CRAP pavement.
It still has the , I am guessing original front tire Diablo Sport ?
A Matris fork kit , on the softest setting. (Preload = 0 )
I have yet to take Todd’s advice and lower the...
I think I had the Exact same or nearly identical faring on a CB360T
If people are sharp enough to catch the link between the small stripe and the bolts on the faring…
No,no, even I know I only have to take off the seat and 4 screws on the V7  !
The R1100S, :wasntme: using the bodywork allowed the engineers to be as true to their design and architecture as possible.
The battery is Under the fuel tank very close the the center of gravity ( I imagine)...
On a “side note”
I changed the air filter in the bike today
What a rigamarole to get at the air filter 24 bolts & screws removed - 4 in secret places 🤦♂️
Scott, Please don’t take out poor attempts at humor, personally.
They were not intended to be criticism or taken as such, certainly not from Tobinh.
He was trying to make light of my use of a low end battery tenders , and how you strongly encouraged us to « shit or get off the pot » and buy...
