well okay.
so, the throttle linkage and cables were dirty and a bit sticky. just enough that they weren't reliably returning to a consistent 'zero'. as a part of the troubleshooting process I've been resetting the tps of course ... but not at a true consistent zero point.
at the same time...
hmmmmm well I will investigate further. I suppose I can replace the bushes if necessary. I recently found a missing (commonly, it seems, from reading this forum and a comment from @GTM®) seal in the swingarm bearings, so maybe there's a seal missing there too.
it only has 55k kms, so hopefully it's not worn excessively
I haven't done a compression or leak down test, I don't have a gauge here. I'll go get one, but I sure hope it's not that!
well, it was not the O2 sensors.
they did require replacing, but now that they're working they can tell me that my right cylinder is getting randomly too much air at zero throttle up to about 5% throttle. AFR bounces from in sync with the left up to about 20% greater. it actually idles okay...
I'm sure GTM will be along shortly to answer this authoritatively, but I'm a bit perplexed by this "focused on the O2 sensor". I've just gone through / learned about this, and it takes five minutes to tell whether the O2 sensor is working properly, pretty definitively: just plug in with the pcv...
the last few years of breva ownership has taught me the value of listening to good directions!
every time I've had an issue, you and this forum had precisely the answer - if I only read it and did it.
Hi guys,
I have a leak at the header/cylinder on my B11 right cylinder - I can see soot on the cylinder. it's been like that a while and I never gave it much thought, but I'm doing a pretty major refurbishment and I'd like to sort it. I have the new gaskets/donuts but... how do I get the old...
it was the O2 sensors :)
Todd / GTM has been incredibly responsive through all this - really going above and beyond to get the ole B11 back up and running.
I really can't thank him enough - I mean I would buy more stuff from him, but I think I have literally his entire catalogue for my bike at...
if you start looking for "power commander problems" on the net, you see some real wild stuff. retailers who obviously don't know what they're selling or why, completely failing to support their customers... who themselves really should not be messing with the fueling on their motorcycles.
it...
I will as soon as I get home! It took me a while to get the laptop to talk to the PC, turned out to be a faulty usb cable 😫
you see everyone reading this, this is why we buy from GTM - I emailed him about my confusion and he directed me within an hour to the right course of action.
...around for a while - over the last few years I've replaced / adjusted almost everything on the bike that could cause this, but I double checked *most* of my work I eventually settled on dirty injectors, and had them cleaned - bike ran perfect, better than it ever had. great, problem solved...
