I searched on the forum & found the sync procedure for the Cali but I think the Jackal may be different.

I bought the bike about two years ago & rode it about 1 mile to my son's house & it has been there ever since. He has done random startups & rides around the block.

The bike appears to be totally stock & was owned by an adult who said he bought it for his wife after she crashed a Triumph Thunderbird.

This past Saturday I rode it home & today rode it into work. When it warms up it's got a pretty good vibration & the idle is not steady. The vibe is engine related & can be felt at different RPM's. Sorry no tach so can't say specificaly what RPM.

She's fairly smooth at 80 but 65 to 80 is the worst. I have taken it up to 80 then pulled in the clutch & coasted and she is smooth, while holding the clutch in I can rev the engine & feel the vibe.

I think the PO may have the valves set too tight because it is one of the quietest Guzzi's I have heard.
One of the rubber boots on the intake is cracked so I have a pair coming.

I'm thinking that:
1) I'll replace the boots & sync the throttle bodies.
2) Adjust valves (.004 int / .006 exh)
3) Throw in some new plugs

Need instructions on syncing the TB's

This bike does not have the 02 sensor on the cat converter.
Which computer does it have?
Does it need a TPS reset?

Any other info about the Jackals anyone can share is appreciated.

Trout, to answer some of your questions:

It is a California, just stripped down.

"This bike does not have the 02 sensor on the cat converter" No, it doesn't have a cat either, that is a pre muffler. Runs open loop.

"Which computer does it have?" 15M

"Does it need a TPS reset?" TPS is set manually using software to read the throttle angle, or a DVM to read voltage. If someone has moved the throttle stop screw, there is a procedure on this forum to get the stop screw back where it should be. See the PDF I attached on page 2 of this thread https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/new-alaris-centurion-vdsts-info-instructions.1676/ for information on getting the throttle stop screw back where it should be.

I also recommend you do what you are thinking about. At 15 years old those boots probably should be replaced.

Thanks John & Mackers.

Last night when I got home I pulled the RS plug wire while it was running & the engine quit. I restarted & pulled the LS wire & it ran just a little rougher so it looks like the left side is the problem child.

After I post this I'm going to go to the links y'all posted.

Thanks again.
