Just got it firing!
Good morning. I have recently got a donated V50 II back on the road after being in storage for 10 years.
I changed all the fluids, overhauled the brakes and carbs, started her up and everything was fine. I went for an MOT and it passed with flying colours. I was so pleased I then went for a 1o mile ride and she drove really well.
Returning home I noticed the top of the engine was covered in oil and the rear drive was dripping oil onto the rear wheel.
Could I ask 2 questions please?
1, I used Halfords EP80 / 90 in the rear drive. Is this too thin and is it ok to use Lucas 85 / 140 instead to try and stop the leak?
2, Could the breather pipe that goes into the air filter be responsible for the engine oil on the top? Please advise where to start looking and in what order as my Mechanic skills have reached their limit!
