That's the one aspect of my V100 that spoils my love for this beautiful bike. I know that I am OCD with machines, that I suffer the typical engineer's professional deformation. But I need to hear it from you. Help me out. Tell me the clunk is there by design, that it adds to the bike's character, that I am nuts to even notice it, that it will get better with time. Help!

My new Verde has not arrived yet, but I have owned three Harleys so first gear clunk will not seem foreign to me. It is there to assure the rider that a gear has been positively engaged. Worry no longer!

my Mandello has a nice CLUNK! when engage the first gear, for the first km also a leap forward, now leap disappeared (I have 3000 km on the clock), but the CLUNK! is still there, sometime noisy other times you barely hear. said that my wife Ducati monster S2R makes a similar CLUNK! that’s a real family feeling!!!

Good to know that the leap will diminish with time. At 1000 km, mine still lurches forward, even when the engine is warm. I am hoping that the first oil change will also help.

on my breva, it clunks less if I hold in the clutch and roll backwards a little bit. try it if it bugs you?
