2013 Norge 8V. Roller tappet engine.

This is good news, after 3 sets of cams and tappets in my 09 Stelvio in 32K miles I got rid of the beast, only to purchase a GSA which I hate (motor wise), the suspension is great though.

Is that a BMW GSA you refer to? If so let us know how you get on with the final drive and fuel pump controller. ;)

Mi_Ka, no words are truer spoken, my 2011 R1200 GSA has no soul.

So far the final drive and fuel pump controller are working fine, it is a year and a half old with 26K miles.

I don't have an 8V but I think that there should be different cams used in the roller tappet version to those used in the flat tappet versions.
I am only going on sketchy memory from Phil Irving's book "Tuning For Speed".
In this book he discusses the differences which tappet shapes make in terms of valve lift and acceleration thereof.
This may be of interest to this discussion if someone has the book.
I don't have the book as it went under in the Brisbane 1974 flood.
Hope this helps. :D

Cheers
Brian :D

Well, this is an old thread. But you are correct. To keep the same valve timing a roller cam has to have a different profile then a flat tappet cam.
