2017 V9 Roamer low miles wont start. [Problem resolved]

Hey all,

was riding my Roamer yesterday and the traction control starts to go off on me when i shift. it progressed to going off constantly to the point i couldn't accelerate past 10 MPH. I turned off TC and i was able to ride it perfectly fine. Today i go to start the bike and it wont turn over. just a quick putter and clicking of the starter. The night before i was riding home from work and there was a lot of condensation on the bike due to the cooling of the humid air. I am not sure if this could be caused by something electrical getting moisture in it? The bike has its warranty, but the dealer if far. The bike has 9xx miles. This thing is new. If i could fix it myself that would be awesome.

A low tire. Will make the t/c act up.. But it sounds like a defunct battery! Clean terminals, charge up on a trickle charger, check voltage then check while trying to start. 12.6 then 10. Minimum.
Then make sure you have 14 at 17000 rpm. All # give or take a touch.

just checked its at 11.5 and wont start. looks like tomorrow im picking up a charger. the battery is 3 years old on a bike that had no miles put on it. probably going to need to replace it!

If the bike sat with the battery in it for that long it's probably toast. I'm sure they didn't maintain it while it was sitting. They should have put a new battery in it, not send it out the door with a 3 year old battery on a new bike.
Hopefully you can get them to reimburse you for a new battery or even send you one.
 
replaced the Battery today, running like a champ. I'm taking it to get its 900 mile service this weekend. ill have a little chat. for the TC i had a screw in the tire. plugged it till i can take it in this weekend. Thanks for all the help Guzzi Famiglia!
 
Maybe a little late now to chime in, but I had exactly the same situation. Sounds like the dealers never want to drop a new battery in their bikes! I bought a 2017 in 2018 and sure enough the battery was out in no time. Dealers will always throw some crap at you "Oh, ya, there's always a trickle drain on any bike" they told me. And the traction control...I had a bolt stuck in my tire. I wouldn't have known it for some time, so perhaps this traction control is good for something!
 
The battery in my wife's V7III crapped out after sitting on a battery tender for a couple months early this year. How/why? Who knows? The bike was purchased new late last year and only had a few hundred miles on it at the time. Cell went bad, apparently... simply turning on the key switch (without trying to start) would cause the voltage to drop to ~8.5V.

At least it did cause me to take a closer look at my battery tender, which was quite old and not meant for AGM batteries - although I have used it on other AGM for years. However, I seriously doubt that the tender was the cause of the problem, but I have since upgraded it anyway. I think it was just a faulty battery.

Naturally, it was *just* beyond the 6 month warranty on the battery, so... new battery for new bike came out-of-pocket. Whatever... onward and upward. Glad it failed in the garage and not on the road.
