Hello, I just picked up my new Eldo from the dealer yesterday.
The bike rides great and shift very smoothly. I'm amaze how rough it is a idle and then smooth as silk once the RPM's get going.
I have noticed a couple of blemish items I need to deal with.

1) The left side of the headlight has fogged up after a 15 mile ride in 80 degree weather? Is there an easy remedy for this?
2: The right side of the gas tank cover has a wider gap between the cover and the tank compared to the left side. I there an adjustment available to fix this??
3) On both sides of the handle bar at top near controls the chrome has a water mark look the size of a nickle. I assume this will need to be replaced.

Finally, How to get that stubborn sticker in the middle of the tank off!! It just keeps breaking of in small pieces when I try to peel it off.

Thanks for any suggestions.
 
Seriously?

1. Take it to the dealer. Warranty issue.

2. Again, take it to the dealer. Don't expect much on this unless it is way way off as in not seated correctly at all. Body panels are NEVER perfect left to right. Ever.

3. Again, take it to the dealer. Although I doubt that is considered a defect in materials or workmanship.

Sticker will come off if warmed with a hair dryer (never a heat gun) before trying to peel off.

Congratulations on your new Moto Guzzi motorcycle!
 
It's really shameful that a dealership let that get out that way. It reiterates the me how lucky I was to be dealing with Moto International, and Dave Richardson, in Seattle when purchasing the two new MGs that I bought. My most recent one is a 2016 Eldorado which has been pretty much flawless. Especially in the cosmetics catagory.

You may be able to adjust the side cover a little by tweeking the mounting brackets (the "get a bigger hammer" method) but I would put that back on the dealer along with the watermark and the headlight fogging.

The fogging issue is pretty universal. You may get some fogging in the instrument cluster as well, depending on circumstances. But those are, again, issues you should take up with your dealer while it is still under warranty.

The lopey idle is normal, as is smoothing out like an electric motor once the RPMs are up a ways. Most of us like it. I am up to nearly 30,000 miles on my Eldo, a lot of which has been done in the rain. I have had fogging in both items but they usually dry out fairly quickly. It's annoying but so is dealing with warranty issues on MGs (so I have been told) so I don't let it get me down.

Warming up any stickers you want to remove is definitely the way to go. They should come off fairly easy that way.

Finally, here is my pitch for Guzzi Tech. I have Todd's full boat fueling package on my Eldo and it is truly amazing what it does for the performance of the machine. Smoother, faster, more predictable. I also have replaced the shocks with a set from GuzziTech and have the replacement GT exhaust crossover. GuzziTech is the first place I look to when I need advice or "stuff" for my motorcycle. They only sell topflight products and they know what they are talking about.

I hope you like your Eldo as much as I do mine.

OK, I made a warranty claim for the right side tank cover. I hope to hear back from Moto Guzzi sometime this week.
I also made a claim for other items. Maybe they will send me a new bike ? LOL!

That's too nice of a bike to NOT be a stickler! Seriously, I'd be the same way. Set your posture early, they will know you're serious about your bike, and they will be too. Hopefully...
 
Piaggio is asking the dealer to try to adjust the tank cover to it's proper place. To do this the dealer is asking Piaggio to send then a replacement eagle emblem in case it breaks on removal. This will take several weeks to get the emblem. If this does not fix the issue I will be insisting on a new tank. The bike came from the factory with the tank cover issue as well as poor chrome finish on the top of the handle bar. I know I was there when they opened the box. Unfortunately I did not notice the tank\bar issue until I started the ride home .
I guess I was so excited about the new bike that I simply missed it.
 
Discovered another issue with the new Eldo. The tires have a manufactured date of May/2016. That means the new tires are over 4 years and 6 months old. Again, This bike was delivered new out of the crate on November 18 2020.

Should I have any concerns??

Update: I called Piaggio and they tell me that the tires would of been inspected by dealer as part of the PPI. If the dealer found no issues with the tires then I should not worry abut having 4 1/2 year old tires on a new bike.
 
If you start Googling you’ll find references stating that tires from 6 to 10 years should be replaced regardless of thread wear...
so by all accounts ( I’ve seen ) “They seem to think you’re Ok for a few more months...”
 
and there is no way to get pregnant the first time!!!
As I recall at 5 years (5 months left for you) the tire manufacturers recommend replacing them. I'd ask them to supply a new replacement set and 1/2 the labor. then u go burn the old ones off. it's perfect riding weather there now. If you don't have time drop it off in green valley and I'll be happy to do the job for free. Wear them out that is.

And then there's my tank.... about a 4mm gap on right side. Can't wait to get this fixed.

I don't know what brand of tires came on your bike, but I checked the FAQ for Michelin and they state that after 5 years of use the tires should be examined every year by a professional mechanic. After 10 years they recommend replacement. Note it does not say after 5 years of age.
Other makers may have different recommendations.

Tires are composed of various types of material and rubber compounds, having performance properties essential to the proper functioning of the tire itself. These component properties change over time. For each tire, this change depends upon many factors such as weather, storage conditions, and conditions of use (load, speed, inflation pressure, maintenance etc.) to which the tire is subjected throughout its life. This service-related evolution varies widely so that accurately predicting the serviceable life of any specific tire in advance is not possible. Tires which have been in use for 5 years or more should continue to be inspected by a specialist at least annually. It is recommended that any tires 10 years or older from the date of manufacture, including spare tires, be replaced with new tires as a precaution even if such tires appear serviceable and even if they have not reached the legal wear out limit.
