Hello, I recently bought a second hand 2008 1200 Sport. This is my first Guzzi. Bought in January and finally got to take it out for my first ride on it last weekend. I'm really enjoying it but wondering about the back firing on deceleration. Do they all do this? It has a O2 optimizer installed. Can it be solved by changing the fuel mapping?

My 2005 Breva has always pops and bangs on decel, sounds great! I wouldn't be without it. :) ... and the open clutch on my Monster is so noisy you can hardly hear the Termi on tick over.

Hi Jim, from my experience there is not much you can do except get your ECU re-flashed by Todd and then your problems will be gone. The PC-V and auto O2 is also a good consideration as this helped a lot to smooth the power delivery. Cost a few $$$ and a day to install it, but well worth it for mine. My 1200 sport has never popped since ECU reflash and transforms the bike. You can try dicking around with other methods but as I found, reflash and PC-V is the best fix if you really want to enjoy your bike.
Cheers Paul.
