I found a 2017 V9 Bobber at my local dealer. They told me Guzzi found it in the warehouse. Then they got it and assembled it. The price is pretty good. They changed the battery and told me it's good to go. What should I do before I sign the sales contract?

Sure would like to know if it ever had gas in it. Look for rust in gas tank, although it's impossible to see in there. For sure I'd want a full brake system flush and the latest map.
Hi, thanks for replying to me so fast! According to the dealer, Guzzi put this in the box and in the warehouse for a long time. They found it when they clean the warehouse. So, it seems like keep dry during the storage time. Do you think replacing the tires is necessary since it has been 6 years after manufacturing?

The price should be more than pretty good. It was a low demand bike and a lot of dealers had new ones left in their inventories for several years after production.
There's a new 0 mile 2017 V9 Bobber at a dealer near Montreal for $9,999 CAD ($7,465 USD) asking price.

Then my dealer's price is much better. They offer me $5750 USD for the bike (2017 v9 bobber - brand new) and OTD should be around $7980 (including tax and everything). Do you think there is anything I should pay attention to it?

Personal that out the door price is high. Look on Facebook marketplace, Craig’s list, cycle trader, also what’s KBB prices? Depending on where you live could be difficult to sell. There’s a member here in Florida that has a used Roamer for sale for about 6200 and is having a difficult time unloading it! If it were me I’d look at a new Stone with the 850 motor.

Tax and registration must be high to add that much out the door. As Davethewelder noted, it will be difficult to sell (OK if you plan to keep it for a long time) and you should at least consider the 850 Stone. I hope that price includes new tires and assume the warranty is intact since it is new.

Thanks for your advice. It has a 1-year warranty. Do you mean tires must be replaced if they stored for more than 5 years?

There are some new Stones in that dealer. They cost more than $9500 for OTD price. But they are 2022 models. Do you think they are better options?

They don’t lose whole bike inventory at the warehouse. What attracts you to the Bobber? A 2022 model is a much better buy for many reasons.
Do you mean it just because they can't sell it? This one is cheaper than most v7/v9. I am a beginner, I can't take risks to buy bikes from the Facebook marketplace.

Back in the late 80's I sold motorcycles in SE Michigan, we moved a lot of bikes. We always had "non current" new bikes in the box. Bikes like Honda Night Hawk 650's, Seca 650 Turbo's (vomit) GL1100 interstates, etc. etc. Seemed like they were inventory from dealers that went bankrupt. Like Todd mentioned, they dont lose a bike. Nothing wrong with them, just a few years old. I'd look at the new 850 Stone for a couple thousand more.

I have a Roamer that is near mint with lots and lots of extras. Never got a bite at the $6200 asking. They are a good riding bike with great fuel mileage and power. I would not be selling mine if my left hand could pull in a clutch any more.

Doubt you would get "hurt" on the price. Just remember you buy it for fun and not an investment. You should be fine.

If the 2022 is only $1600 more OTD, I think that is a better deal. For that small of difference, they should at least include new tires and brake system flush/fill if you go with the 2017. The tires may be OK now since it was in a warehouse, but they are starting out 5 years older than the 2022. One more difference, the 2022 should have a 2-year, unlimited mileage warranty. I think you will enjoy either bike so buy the one you want to ride and don't worry too much.

Ok, I'll say it. Cadre bought the last of those bikes from the importer and sold them for $5500 a few years ago because nobody wanted that style of bike. I'm sure he made 500-900 on them or why do it. They didn't "find" the bike you're looking at. Odds are it's been sitting on the floor at some dealer who went out of business and the floor plan co made the importer buy it back. it's worth $5000 with no added freight or setup and that's it.
Plenty of leftover 2021 v7-850's out there with rebates and no s/u charges if you search a bit.

As a new bike, you get a sense of security and confidence buying from a local dealer you can go back to for help and service vs. some guy off the internet !

If this is indeed your first bike I can also understand how your trying to get the best you can for the least $$$$, unless you have Extra money :)
If it’s been inside, in a climate controlled environment, with no weight on the tires, they should be ok.
The brake fluid - I’ll defer to the real mechanics ;)

Ask what it would cost to include the 1000 mile service in the price.
That would get you a free tune up and oil change.
( or better yet ask what they charge for that service and offer to add half that price to include that 1k service )

welcome and Good luck !
