Just installing my new FAC dampers in my Cal II, I noticed that the fork tubes are sticking above the top clamp surface by about 1.00 inch.
Quick reference to Guzziology, and Dave says the Cal II tubes are flush with the top clamp from the factory.
I suspect the PO dropped the front end to compensate for the over-stuffed seat (that was a disaster). I've been riding it for 10 years oblivious to any handling issues because of this.
So can anyone verify where their tubes are positioned in their clamps?
If in fact mine should be flush with the top, have I really been flirting with a handling disaster all these years with them sticking up 1.00"?
Should I drop the tubes down/raise the clamps by half the distance, say, .50"?
Please throw out your $.02 eveeryone!
