From ADVRider; advrider.com/f/threads/moto-guzzi-v85-tt.1265870/page-1141#post-49475669 -- It's a shame that many that frequent here (and clearly there) wouldn't step up to defend me at all there. I won't call out names, but you know who you are. Disappointing isn't strong enough of a word. Many here support other ad-laden money generating websites, yet not here.
'Ol davethewelder there bought products from me, and when the supplier RapidBike U.S. didn't install the correct firmware on his device and it didn't run correctly, they promptly threw me under the bus over it. So he resorted to name calling here, and then chose to go on a bash me campaign all over the net. When he whined there, a few others had to chime in, even those who have never done any business with me. Yes I banned him here because of it.
So yes, this is my site I've busted my a$$ on for two plus decades, and worked tirelessly to develop and manufacture products that I am proud of... and yes I've grown tired of the entitled spoon-feed-me-on-demand pricks all over the net. I spend hours answering posts and emails every day that don't generate a penny, and via the GTM site where buyers clearly purchase elsewhere to save a $ after using me for advice.
When I was much younger, I often wondered why so many "older" guys were so bitter after being in business for so long. I now get it. Next year will likely take me in an all-new direction far and away from this. I will see if I care at all to keep this site alive then. To all the haters, good job, you won. I'll go enjoy the rest of my life now. It's been a fun run up until the last few years. Thanks to all of those who have supported my efforts. This brand used to be a small great group of fellow Guzzisti. No longer. Great job Piaggio.

Todd, I've just read the link. I'm speechless. Some people have no grace, manners and clearly, brains.
You provide an unequalled resource and products. Please try not to let such wuckfits to piss on your back and tell you it's raining.
Kia kaha!

Ah yes, more drivel below. Don't worry about banning yourself, I'll handle it for you. Don't like it here, go away. No reason to whine about it elsewhere online. Thanks to @groundhog105 for speaking up.

Below: Uh, sure... And for those whining about shipping, read THIS (or don't like most others) and thanks for NOT supporting this site, like the one below.

I signed up on that site couple of months ago just to try and get a hold of a guy I rode with from a Guzzi meet at Two Wheels. Time to go back and visit to see whats going on. Chill Todd, your letting a very very small number of people get to you

Thanks. If you knew me at all, you'll know I'm as chill as they come. It's the drivel bashing there that costs me business, which has been allowed there for a VERY long time. The very foundation and traffic of that Forum was stolen from the MGNOC owner. They allow people to break their own #1 rule: No un-justified personal or dealer attacks.

My "rules" are simple. Don’t be a be a dick. Do so and you'll get banned. I've only done so to a small handful. A few people come here like they own the place, refuse to read anything, and then try to go to battle with me when I call them on it. I pay for EVERY word posted here. I’m not paying for abuse.
In addition to my huge investment in the brand and all I offer to the Guzzi community (including this free Forum), I am a reseller on many products, that I personally buy and test before offering here.
Those that attack me typically have zero investment, try to prove my work as junk because they can make a $ in doing so. They use free products, show no proof, and people blindly and ignorantly buy stolen work and most often cause the bikes to run worse. Thankfully it looks like the newer bikes have finally brought an end to it.
Though China offerings (and many buyers) are bringing an abrupt end most products I offer.

Deplorable. What I find despicable is that people like this don't have the spine to contact you directly with their supposed issue but are ok to print nonsense via the web. Todd, you are an utterly valuable asset to your supporters. Carry on ignoring those who bad-mouth you.

Todd, don't make me come to California and bitch slap you! Don't let them bother you, they are typical whiners hell bent on bothering you. Don't give them the satisfaction that they want! Your better than that, and I really do not want to fly that far just to bitch slap you... :)

I sat back and laughed off the abuse for more than a decade. It cost me. I’m old enough now to be done with the stupidity. I keep repeating this, but I will again, I’ve spent a fortune on the data I’ve given to the Guzzi community for free, despite the lashings (including from Piaggio). So when I pull the plug and walk away (coming sooner than later), everyone can enjoy the clueless ignorance elsewhere… while I smile and ride off into the sunset.

I do understand Todd, just trying to put a smile on your face. I was a moderator on a firearms web site, they called me a sneaky pit-bull because I just baited trouble makers until they left the site. It was amazing how much anger and horribleness I put up with. I would get involved when someone had a firearm problem, and all would try to help, including myself as a professional gunsmith! none of the answers were good enough for them( then why the fuck did you ask the forum to start with) so away they went never answering what was wrong with the firearm and how was it fixed... I here you clucking my friend! :)

When we were kids, if you had something to say to someone, you said it to their face and risked getting your teeth knocked out. Not anymore...people can sit behind their keyboard from the comfort of their home and say whatever obnoxious sh!t they want on the internet with no regard for how it might affect a business that someone else built. Those are the people that have never built anything.

As a business owner myself, it's easy to have let my day be ruined by one or two loud a$$holes with something to say...then I run into all the rest of the people who love us, love what we do, and love how we do it and that reminds me of what I love about being in business for myself...having the opportunity to help others.

This site and the community that you've built has been invaluable to me, and your products are one of a kind. I'm the guy that thinks stock sucks...easy to say for my Harley because everyone makes stuff for that. Shortly after I bought my Norge, I found this site and I'm glad that I did. When I installed my PCV and couldn't figure stuff out, we set up a time for you to log into my laptop that was plugged in to my bike so we could do some trouble shooting...me in NJ and you in CA. It runs the way it was meant to now...never had that kind of service from anyone when working on my Harley!

Most of the stuff I've bought from your store doesn't exist elsewhere, but I've also bought stuff from you (and paid for shipping cross country) that's available locally. I'm happy to do so because it's worth not only supporting a small business, but supporting YOUR small business because you support all of us.

I know you don't do what you do for the thanks, but thanks just the same. Let the haters hate...miserable bastards. F 'em.

Appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts and words here, and for the business and $upport here on this site. Massive thanks in return.

Just want to second (3rd? 4th?) sentiments here - really I'll just pile on. This site has been extremely valuable to me in the short time I've been here, and as an inveterate tinkerer I appreciate the content and store! As powerful a good as the internet and all it brought can be, it's also enabled a vile and unaccountable nature in a lot of folks. More than ever, it really is easier to tear down than it is to build due to amplified negative messages with 0% accountability. What's a person to do? I'm a tinkerer, a coder, a boss, an employee, an owner, a dad, a son, professional in a couple of areas and a rank amateur in 50 others. I deeply admire people with the spirit to build everything from businesses, to better mousetraps, and even just plain old good relationships and manners, so I admire you folk. I understand wanting to pull away, and every person has the right to do so when they decide it is time (without judgement), but for this site and story, I hope it still has some legs to run. To builders!
Sincerely -
