Airbox Mods

ok, well i don't know about your laws of physics, but i do know what i saw on my speedo last night.
i knew i was going to do this mod so i did a few comparison test runs beforehand, noting what mph i was doing at several points on a road at set engine speeds.
then i did this again after the airbox mod and at the same rpm im definitely going a bit faster.
all i can put this down to is that the restrictive nature of the snorkel acts as a "choke" on the engine, and when its removed the engine can breath better.

Anyway, they are only bloody motorbikes so just ride em, and enjoy them.
Scientists and scholars once thought the world was flat, so laws on all things can change, even physics! ;)

Too true.
But there is definately more power!
Yesterday I was pulling out of a 30 limit in 2nd about 4000 rpm just opened the throttle and up came the front wheel. no loading suspension or flicking the clutch, it didnt do that before!!

Well Judging by the responses on 1200 sport forum this mod seems to be the way to go, Will try to get it on a dyno soon to see whats what

Well I decided to go for it..
I am getting a much better fuel consumption, but as I packed the temp sender at the same time so cant be sure how much better

That (in my experience) could make a considerable (5-10% ish) improvement to fuel consumption. I'm not sure I could stand the roar. Subjective I know but I like a quite motor.
