Hi, Can anybody tell me if the front drum brake plate on the Ambassador is the same one used for the rear brake of the V7 Sport? ...They look identical in photos. Thanks

You might be able to compare part numbers. Try Greg's thisoldtractor website and see what you can find

The casting is the same, but it's machined slightly different. 1) You would need to drill and tap a hole for the stud securing the brake tie rod. 2) The drain hole for the circular containment area (that catches any errant grease from the wheel bearing) is in a different location. I can shoot some photos later today explaining these better if necessary.

Thank, photos would be greatly appreciated!!

This shows the approx. orientation of the V7 Sport brake backing plate. X marks the position of the Loopframe drain hole, the check mark denotes where a hole would need to be drilled.

Here is where the backing plate would need to be drilled (M10-1.5) and tapped for the stud that the tie rod attaches to.
