See the printing on the zip-tie? If you cut it off gently, I bet you will find a BMW roundel printed on it 😆👌👍🙏

Thanks again for the pointer to find it, so I guess this is probably a pretty good indicator that the clutch fluid has never been changed.
It did only have 16,000 miles in those 25 years…

Oh MY, where will I be able to get an Authentic BMW Zip tie to replace it
I might have to use a Canadian equivalent.

Belated News :wasntme:
Signed up for a Rider training day with the local BMW club.
I have been to this track many times before with cars, but never on a bike.
The first session was dry-ish, then it started to rain.
Not that I got Anywhere near the limits, but the bike still felt good in the wet.
I'm still a chicken $%& when it comes to leaning the bike over :p rain or not.
Tried for focus on looking ahead vs. Cone to Cone...

Track days are tons of fun and really hone your skills, keep at it, you'll enjoy it the more you do it.20210410_133343.webp

I need to gain / build up confidence in what the bike and its tires are capable of…
You'll be surprised at what the tyres can handle and that your skill level is probably better than you give yourself credit for.
Track days & schools are a great confidence builder.
Have fun!!

I understand completely. Last Thursday I was riding what I thought was quite fast through some twisties near Calabogie. Each time I looked in my mirrors, my buddy was right behind me and a car was keeping up easily.
Another time last fall the same friend was taking a video with his phone from behind me at the same pace.
