Just got it firing!
Ongoing issues with my 2006 B11 and suspect ECU misreading analogue inputs, particularly Lambda, engine temp and fuel sender. Rich running possibly due to lambda or temperature misreading and fuel gauge reads 50% i.e. full tank reads half when tank is full. Warning light comes on but takes only 11litres to fill.
Can someone tell me if the fuel tank sender is a resistive sensor or capacitive? I have readings in Ohms but this could be resistance or impedance. I did try a calibrated decade box in place of the sender but it made little sense, though did read low; however, I can't measure with a dim once powered unless it is resisted and I am measuring potential difference.
I really don't want to shell out for an ECU just for diagnostics.
Steve.
