Hey gents thanks for all the posts. I hope this thread benefits the Guzzi community as a whole. The truth is when arguments arise we roll up the sleeves and go to work.
Foxter, your info will come in quite handy. I have found a patent pending on the 02 cheat, looks just like that.
I have been busy and haven't had time to collect any new data that would be of interest here. However my friend and coworker Jason did try a 2.2k Ohm diode fix on a Vintage and it appears to be of benefit. Me being a fan of quantitative measurements rather than of qualitative "works" or "doesn't" I will have to measure effects and share them here. 1.5M is a different beast altogether, simpler and I am not sure if at all it has adaptive capabilities. The only Guzzi 15m here in US with the closed loop circuit is the Vintage and I know it doesn't have adaptive error capabilities.
To make things even more interesting I was thinking of what actually shuts off the closed loop circuit on a 1200 Sport? Probably a TPS position or maybe a relationship of TPS and RPMs? Well, we could tell the ECU to shut off closed loop at 500RPMs for example thus effectively neutering the 02 sensor function. So I asked a friend of mine who writes code if he thinks this would be possible to which he replied "I wrote that code".
He said to call him next time Iget my hands onto one of those and he'll bring his equipment. We'll see about that.
