Today I set out on a multi-day trip on my 2021 V85TT. Started in Santa Cruz, Bolivia at 400 msl and headed SW up the Andes mountains. Sleeping in Sucre tonight after 482 km of perfect curvy mountain roads with very little traffic and climbing to 2790 msl.
I have to say…this Guzzi is a wonderful bike for curvy stuff!
I’ll try to add my favorite pic of the day, each day.

Excellent. May Meili be with you.
Did the bike run well at 2790 metres (over 9,000 feet)?
It ran as well as back home at 400 metres.
Only change I’ve noticed is while starting. At altitude it takes longer to fire up, requiring a few more turns of the engine. I’ve also noticed that if I very slightly twist the throttle, it fires up quicker, but never as quickly as at low altitudes.
Today we rode up to 3800 meters.

Taking a break from the cold morning air. It was -2 degC when I left the hotel in La Quiaca, border town in northern Argentina. Happy to report the Guzzi was running flawlessly at 2800 meters. It still has the ‘running-in ECU mode’. One of the reasons I’m headed for Tucuman to get the ECU flashed at the dealer. Dashboard still lights up when I hit 5000 rpm.

Hit 3800 meters at the highest point yesterday. And back down to about 700 meters when going through this cloud forest between Jujuy and Salta cities.
Should note that the bike runs just fine at these altitudes. Worth commenting that I only noticed a change in it while starting it up. It takes longer cranking before it fires up. Found that cracking open a hair at the throttle while cranking makes for easier/faster ignition.

Get out the owners book. It's a simple change through the mode button. There is no "flash" for these from a dealer. Also just drive right through the flashing lights. It will eventually hit the rev limiter.

Looks like a great trip !

If the bike is « old » there might be updated firmware (flash) but no custom engine tuning from the dealers
( Other than what The shop that manages this site can provide )
