Breva 750 timing chain options

Hey,

The question:
I’ll have to change timing tensioner and can do the chain when I’m at it. Is there any aftermarket timing chain for the Breva 750? It seems Regina discontinued the C107HC and D.I.D. doesn’t have it in offer either. I checked with a local Guzzi dealer and the original part is not available.
The bike’s got 36k km / 22k miles

The backstory:
last night I went to change gasket on the sump on my Breva as it was leaking and look what I found inside

everything printed towrads the timing tensioner, so I went on, removed the front cover and surely enough, it was really the rubber block

If the tensioner is shot, then the timing chain is worn. As far as I know, only the stock chain is available in Europe, but you can check with suppliers as they are available in the US. It is probably sourced from the same manufacturer that supplies Moto Guzzi.

Hi Scott, Getting a chain from Australia would be as difficult as getting one from the US. Hopefully there are suppliers in Europe which would be closer to him. Maybe Agostini or Leo Tamers for sure would be easier, that is less shipping cost.
 
Oh. I just take it for granted that I buy stuff from all over the world.

that's not what I wanted to hear... well, I'll have to keep looking.

I don't have problem with buying the chain from overseas, I used to import car parts from Japan so I'm used to dealing with customs and couriers etc.

I'll look into it. I've tried sending inquiry to a local bike chain manufacturer, that develops and sells chains for karts, street and racing bikes etc. so they might have just the right one for me.

What ever you do, do not get a chain with a master link. That master link can fail.
 
This is not looking good. I checked my usual sources and they show the timing chain as special order, or pre-order and they will ship when available. You may want to check with several dealers in Europe to see if anyone has one around.
