Cal1400 REGISTRY & Pics thread - ADD YOUR BIKE

Good morning Guzzistas!

I'm Cierzo, from Zaragoza, Spain and I'm here in this forum with a Moto Guzzi MGX-21.

The truth is that I have spent a bit of time on all types of motorcycles, I have always liked the Guzzi, I think they have Soul.
I've been through Triumph, Kawasaki, Harley ... and I think this is the definitive one! The truth is that to look for info on this bike has been difficult, and much of it in this forum. In everything I can I hope to solve your doubts and find other owners.
The "Flying Fortress" is given to me in a few days so I will review it as it should. I hope to bring something new and learn from the best ones to love these machines!
I put some pictures of the day I went to buy it! that already knows that if no photo = no motorcycle

Bienvenido desde Menorca.

Proud new owner of a 2017 MGX-21 Flying Fortress.VIN#ZGULCUA00HM000267.
I purchased mine at Unique Superbikes in Miami, Florida. I live in Tampa Florida.
I am already in love with my MGX-21 after just a few days! My girlfriend, Ingrid, loves the looks of the MGX-21, even if she wishes I was into cars, not bikes lol.

Hi folks!
ZGULCU005GM200142
2016 Moto Guzzi Audace Base
Purchased 13-August-19 from my friends at GP Motorcycles in San Diego

Strangely- this bike is a 2016 but had five miles on it when I decided to test ride it on a whim. Once I rode it- and I was shot a great price I decided to run to the bank and take some of the money I'd just gotten from selling my Mustang GT500 race car and take this thing home!

Then I spent almost all the money I saved and bought all the go fast bits from Guzzi Tech including the exhaust and the fueling stuff and some red valve head covers because=fast.

I love this bike so much. I just decided after riding it all day in the canyons here that it could use a little bit more power so I invested in Guzzi Tech's full exhaust system and ECU Fueling upgrade stuff. I've always wanted a Moto-Guzzi and I think I'm in love. I knew I was going to use some of the money from selling the Mustang and buy myself a new bike- and I was all over the place. Rationally I needed cruiser/bagger. I really needed a bike that I could go on multi-day trips with baggage. I test rode the Harley Road King, the Indian Chieftain and figured I'd go look at the Guzzi MGX-21. My salesman at GP motorcycles knows me- he sold me my Aprilia RSV4-RR and before that my Ducati- and he told me that I probably wouldn't like the big front wheel on the MGX. I'd previously ridden the California with the floorboards and the chrome and I remember it feeling big and kind of clumsy and unwieldy. I know that if I were to walk in my garage to pick something to ride to work that day- I'd never pick the California. Now the Audace on the other hand- I could seriously see this thing being my only bike. It's totally manageable in town, the bike is lots of fun in the canyons, it's almost fast enough to get in trouble with, and it feels really great ergonomically. If there was anything I could nitpick- it's that it could be a bit louder (Euro4) and it could be a little bit more powerful. I'm addressing all that though. The drag bars are really wide too which makes lane splitting a little bit more of a challenge-but I don't think I'll change the bars. The bike is big and the extra leverage of the drag bar feels right for the bike.

Part of me wants to buy a Harley FXDR style fairing and modify it to fit the Audace. I think the bike could look cool with a really nice fairing.

I got my 2016 Audace from Eurocycles Sonoma on 11 July 2019. It has a checkered past even though it was advertised as new but had 542 miles on it. You can read about the ordeal in another thread in this section. I won't repeat it here as it is kind of long.

I have gotten to enjoy the bike quite a lot. My only concern is the heavy handling at walking speeds in parking lots etc. I am getting on in years and I am not as strong as I used to be thus I worry about dropping it. I installed crash bars so I feel a bit better. The bike however is a joy on the highway at speed. It is very stable, corners well and is buffeting free. I could never get rid of the buffeting on my Harley Slim with or without a windscreen. I believe the sheet metal on the front was the culprit. The Audace is a fantastic highway bike , however someday when I can afford it I would like to find a V7 for running around town. Even though this is my first Guzzi I came close to buying an Eldorado in 1970. I have always had a soft spot im my heart for Moto Guzzi's and I am thrilled to finally own and ride one.

The VIN is: ZGULCU001GM200137
