Can a 5AM ECU from a Ducati be flashed for a 1200S?

I would think so. You need one? I do have a brand new sealed 1200sport ecu here in front of me.

My reasoning is that I want to keep my Breva 1200S ECU unflashed, just in case, but I would like to try the bike out with the Todd flashing on a spare ECU. The bike is still under warranty too, so I don't want to take any chances. There are plenty of 5AM's from Ducatis for sale for peanuts, so that was the reason for my question.

PM me about the 5AM you have.

Thanks,

I *think* Todd can re-flash any 5AM 'pooter with his box of magic. Navigator will recognise which bike the ECU is programmed for and won't allow you to upload an 'Unsuitable' map. ie, if you gave a computer from a Griso 1100 it won't allow you to put a map for a 1200 in it.

Although I have read that people have had the updated 1200 map/application installed on the 1100s of the same type at least, i.e. Breva 1100 updated with Breva 1200 map.

The Ducati ECU pinouts are different, so no. Also, I've experienced enough problems with speedo readings that I prefer to re-flash ECUs from the country in which you live.

I'm on the road this week, so pardon my slow replies here and via email.

I have a European version of 1200S ECU if anyone is interested. Bought if as a back-up for the Norge before Todd advised me it wouldn't work! Bugger!

$200 plus postage.

Regards

I'd probably buy it from you and have Todd re-flash it so I could keep my stocker...if it wasn't for Todd's post right before yours.

I only have one and it's yours if you want it. I'm also abroard (France) from 15/5 - 9/6 so you if you confirm that you do want it, I'll post it to Todd before I go and he can flash it when you pay then send it on to you. Contact me at rob<at>rahaley.id.au to arrange payment details. PayPal would work well for me.

Regards
