Hey Fellow Guzzi Mavens,
I am in the process of having JE Pistons make the highest compression pistons they'll make for my LSR V7 Sport. Amoung the data requested, they wanted a cast of the combustion chamber. I've never done that before and it turned out OK without destroying the head.
Another plus was a trip to TAP Plastics... I can't get enough of that place.
Anyhow... Here' are shots of the casting process. If anyone wants to do one lemme know and I'll give ya the benefit of my hours of experience... welll 30 minutes anyway.
Here's the head with resin in it. I used a cable tie to ease unmolding:
Here's the final product. I added the red color but I guess I didn't mix it enough:
That was fun! Looks like an Alien with huge bug eyes!
