i am wondering if anyone else's Stelvio sometimes had a loud clicking on start up for a few seconds . The best way I can describe the sounds is the timing chain rattling or banging into something. Bike runs great , no issues that I know of. I could just be OCD and find its just another "guzzi charm " :).

Is it the right cylinder.

Sounds like the time mg chain tensioner pressuring up. It is a hydraulic tensioner and the right cylinder has a larger reservoir that takes a couple of seconds to prime up. More pronounced on the roller bikes vs the flat Tappets especially if you did the conversion.

Normal as long as it only lasts a couple of seconds. If you turn the bike off and then back on again it should not happen the second time. Also find that it is worse if you leave the bike on the Center stand vs the side stand as the tensioner does not bleed down as much. Either way completely normal.

Thank you! I recently switched from a mosquito quite jap bike to my new ride . Takes a while to get used to the guzzi sound :)

Mine, and from what I understand most, have that rattle for a couple of seconds as the cam chain tensioner pumps up.

Hi, newbie to here and to moto guzzi.
I just got a 2010 1200 sport, great bike , I also had and still do have japs, they are great for working perfectly but I feel they lack soul, well the guzzi is certainly soulful right down to the clinkity clink of the top end which set my nerves going at first but now realize after much discussion that it is normal. Ample power not bad handling great brakes bags full of quirky character, this could after all these years be the one to marry .... once I divorce the wife.
Bella bella or something like that.
