The Cat on my Breva 11 recently started to blow exhaust from the exit pipe. I'm thinking it needs replacement. It is accompanied by an impossible to set and keep idle after the bike is warmed up.
I'm looking for a used Cat from someone who replaced it using the "Y" pipe from GT. While I love the GT muffler, I want to do my part for clean air.
Thanx

I have never seen a clogged Catalytic converter on a motorcycle before but there is a possibility, even if remote.

There are 2 riders in the UK here, with a combined 340,000+ km on theirs and to my knowledge, they have never had any issues with regard to this.

What do you mean "blow exhaust from the exit pipe"?

Perhaps your problem is not al all what you think, and there are several well documented issues which can affect idle stabilization and they are well covered in the forums, where SEARCH is a fantastic tool.

I have one for a B11, but Todd probably has some so I suggest contacting him as he is closer. Use the contact tab in the Store.

Scott, I have witnessed them clog, overheat, catch fire and ultimately completely crumble to small pieces. I've seen close to a dozen on the V7s.

Wow. Southern California gas maybe? 😆😆😆

I did say it’s possible just that I’ve never seen it ever. Not BMW, Moto Guzzi or any marque really.

I'm getting exhaust coming from the junction of the cat and the exit pipe that connects to the muffler. If it isn't clogged I suppose it is possible the weld at the junction of the pipe and cat is compromised.
Thanks for all the help

Mine developed a crack at the weld. I actually sent some pictures to Todd. I replaced mine with the GTM pipe.
The tiny amount of pollution not having a cat produces is well worth the sound, performance, weight savings and heat loss. I only ride my Norge for the fun of it so I'm polluting needlessly anyways.
