• NOTICE: The owner of this website and GTMotoCycles.com completely lost his home on the morning of January 8th in the L.A. Wildfire Storm. Most of his neighborhood is gone, and a few friends were killed along with their pets. The GTM SHOP and STORE are functioning normally, but we DEMAND EXTREME PATIENCE on orders as we are a SMALL business and Todd usually has his hands on nearly every order before it goes out. You can find more info on a post named L.A. Wildfires in the USA section. Our heart and best go out to everyone effected in this horrific disaster.

Cracked Cal 14 Exhaust Parts

Don't be afraid to loosen the entire exhaust system and reposition to reduce any additional loading on the entire
system . Another reason for this is the frequent observation that the rear brake line is often very close to the exhaust
pipe with the consequences being a softening of the rear brake pedal . Peter

My 2015 California broke the balance pipe at about 30,000 miles while on a weekend ride with mates. In New Zealand I didn't have the option of the H pipe replacement as the exchange rate, postage and taxes put it financially out of the question. After doing some googling on the effect of removing balance pipes I decided to give it a crack. So I cut off the balance pipe, tidied up the holes, made up covers using stainless steel tubing and sealed the covers with exhaust cement. All reversible if the result wasn't any good. The common view seems to be that removing the balance pipe improves bottom end and reduces top end because it is a bit more restrictive. Seat of the pants the bike seems to go just like it did before, although the exhaust sound has changed a bit. A NZD20 fix. If anyone has real data on performance balance pipe vs no balance pipe it would be great to see it.
Sorry took me some time to find them. Chromes not the best but you’re welcome to them if you want. Bit of a late Christmas gift. Off a 2013/14 so should fit.

Soo.. I just joined the club!
Thats a lot of vibration to go and crack the reinforcing plate too. Till I find out if Todd has definitely discontinued the H-pipe mod I will debate whether to just put the other set on from my wrecked bike and/or cut off the crossover tube and weld/braze this set back up. I'm suppose to ride up to N.C. at the end of the month so I need to figure this out quick. luckily I do have options 👍. (12k miles on the bike )

I bought the H pipe from GTM just 2 months ago. I also bought the polished headers.

If I remember correctly, he said someplace that he was going to move to only producing the full exhaust setup.

This one:

I think that is going to be your only option. You can weld that pipe and it will only break again and again and again.

Thanks Scott. I will completely pull the partial systems and mufflers only offline in the very near future. I’ve sold so few in the last 10 years.
I’ll only offer full complete systems, built to paid order, without heat shields;
