Just got it firing!
Hello,
Just got mine in summer 2024, and also not really happy with the sound of Arrow exhaust.
Idling and at very low revs it indeed sound quite nice with the low bass roar, but as soon as you put revs on the main zone (~3000 rpm up), the sound completly change and at stable speed and/or higher speeds (as 90/100 up) I can't even notice the exhaust note... only the "kind of annoying" high pitch from the motor itself.
I don't know in every other countries, but in my country (Portugal), we have a problem with modifying bikes, as we bikers are often "pursuit" by the police so they can detect the minor modification to original specs and so they can apply a fine. I guess it is like that in the majority of countries
So, as I said, I'm not really happy with the sound of it (F@CK EURO 5) and as driving a motorcycle is, for me, a sensorial experience, the sound is one the most important aspects.
Although removing a fixed dbkiller was not my first option (visible noticeable), I really would like to do something regarding the exhaust sound.
As for the @Antares80 solution, I liked it because when muffler all assembled back again no one would notice any modification because the dbkiller end is still visible.
@Antares80, I'll ask you some questions so that you can also leave some more information here for anyone who might come after and be interested in a similar solution.
- You have drilled the rivets, and then for closing it again, have you applied new rivets? Or any other close solution was applied?
- Once you have left the dbkiller part seen from the exterior, how and where have you cup-saw from the interior?
- How would you rate the sound difference? Is it as noticeable as removing it all like Anders have done? Or that little dbkiller end still muffling the sound?
- Have you also felt the lean-running and the need for remap?
What a great work I have learned here with this both methods!
