I have a nice 93 Strada with wooden brakes. I also have the gold brembos from a 2003 Lemans as well as some old brackets for mounting the gold brembos to replace the F08's. Any suggestions on a rear MC to replace the stock Strada unit? After modern brakes, the old linked brakes are too dangerous for me.
Any input is appreciated.
Cheers,
Jon

Jon, post a picture of the rear master and measure the mounting points. I'll see what's available.

Should be this one, PS 15.

My 08 Griso has linked brakes and I wouldn't want to "de-link" them. I'd rather replace the proportioning valve to put more power to the front brake. I have no trouble locking up the rear while hitting both brakes.

Maybe it's because I tend to stomp the brake rather than gradually-smoothly-taking-to -much-damn-time-slow-down when I'm in a hurry.

Quite sure it doesn't have linked brakes at all. The wooden feel of the rear master tends to be overly aggressive on pad feel and bite... but Jon's talking about a much older bike. Only the Cal Vin models of late have linked brakes.

Thanks Todd, I checked the parts diagram to confirm not-linked brakes. This explains my tendency to lock up the back. Also I'll feel better about adding more pressure on my two-finger squeeze.

I need visit and get some training...........

I've de linked my Le Mans II brakes. I've kept the original calipers.
I've fitted a PS15 master cylinder to the front brakes and a PS12 to the, now, single rear.
You can pick up front PS15's (with square reservoir) easily. I got the rear from the US, originally made
for a Ducati 860GT. It needed some machining to fit the right way round.
All brakes lines are now braided stainless, as are all 3 discs.
All pads are Brembo carbon ceramic and the brakes are now excellent, far better than standard. Having both front discs work together is soooo much better.
