A friends son is designing a motorcycle security device in the final year of his degree at Loughborough uni in England .
He has little success getting general motorcycle forums to help ,getting abusive replies from some , so I thought I would show him how helpful Guzzi riders can be and ask on an international forum , would you help ?

I did it a couple of minutes ago and it was completely anonymous and painless ,not sure how useful my survey would be living in a very sparsely populated are a of Scotland ,but there must be a lot of you chaps who live in high density urban areas that take your security a lot more seriously than me .
Hope you can help
Cheers

Our pleasure. I just completed the survey, it really doesn't take more than 3 minutes tops. Help our fellow Guzzian.

Thanks Chaps.
Luke the engineering student is very happy with the response.
Got to wondering if bike thefts are a big problem over the pond . I live 50 miles from Aberdeen ,in a very rural location and have never had anything stolen from around the farm ,but theft and break inns in Aberdeen seems to rife .
I became aware of the crime wave via a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FubarNews it seems a night doesn't go by that someones bike or car isn't stolen .
Not what I would have expected from so close to home .

Quick and easy. Glad to help.

That said, not sure my answers about m/c locks will be useful. As I said, among other responses, in survey, I love my Guzzis, but few thieves worldwide seem to care! ;)

Might have answered more "positively" about locks had we continued to live in edgy downtown Atlanta.

But, we now live in rural Virginia, where nighttime prowlers are of the wildlife sort. The only biped "bad guys" here are bears that get up on their hind legs and destroy the latest "animal proof" bird feeder! :D

Completely understandable Bill. It IS one of the many reasons I ride Guzzi.
Once upon a time, long ago, I rode the Eldo to a bar on a busy street (Western Ave in Chicago) in a 'dynamic" neighborhood.
Some hours later, upon returning to the bike, I realized that I had left the keys ON THE SEAT!
Bike and keys still there! True story.

Reminds me of the time I went to that bar in a convertible car. I had a Meucci pool cue that I hated. So I figured leave it on the front seat and some one will take it. When I got back there were TWO of them there. Ummm not so true story I guess...
