Hello everyone I am a new Guzzi owner, its a 2001 V11 Jackal. I went for a ride earlier today and I noticed very loud ticking from the right cylinder head, I am guessing its valve clearance issues. I am also getting some backfire at times when I let off the throttle. I have uploaded a video to YouTube so you can hear the sound. Lemme know what you guys think I should do. I have really been enjoying this bike but hearing this sound this morning got me very concerned. Bike currently has 28k miles on it. Thanks for any info you all may have.

Yep, that's way too loud. Check the clearances (both sides while you're at it) as per the specs. When did it last have an oil & filter change? That'd certainly be worth doing too. I'm guessing there are no other symptoms? Are the exhaust joints actually ok throughout the system? Hope you get it fixed satisfactorily. Looks like a great bike.

All the exhaust joints look ok, doesn't appear to be a leak. I am not sure when oil and filter were done last, so I guess I will just do it all at the same time, thanks for the insight, just wanted to get a set of ears on it who are more familiar with these motors. 👍

To get to the oil filter, you have to drop the pan. In addition to the perimeter screws, there are four to get from the bottom of the pan. Do acquire two valve cover gaskets, pan gasket, and oil filter before you do the change. If you upgrade your account, the service manual is in the downloads. The California 1100 manual will work for the Jackal. https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/user-account-upgrade-donations.14025/
