Just got it firing!
Hi I am hoping someone can assist. Bike: 1991 750T (essentially a V65 with a Nevada 750 engine, sold in UK) I am trying to change the final drive oil seal, between the brake backing plate / drive housing and the axel. It leaks oil all over the brake disk. The disk brake is on the same side as the drive. I have removed the crown wheel and inner bearing race, but I can't see how to separate the axel from the case. There is a large roller bearing set into the case (see photo), supporting the axel, and the seal is on the other side, behind the cush drive / hub ( not sure if that the right term, see photo) . How do I remove the axel from the case without trashing the bearing or the case? The case is cast Aluminium so use of a hammer is too risky! I'm a competent mechanic but I don't have a full workshop or a hydraulic press, just a had held fly wheel / bearing puller. Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks.
