Need to be very careful with a heat gun. Can be too hot. Hair drier is safer option.A lot of guys have used WD40 as have I. It works pretty well just takes a little rubbing and patience. A bit of heat from a heat gun helps.

This. Took the advice: hair dryer on low, expired credit to gently scrape… and work slowly. Works.Oh please…..please…please….
NEVER use a heat gun for this. Even on the lowest setting it is sufficient enough heat to destroy plastic texturing and paint as well.
Just use a normal household HAIR DRYER. The lowest setting provides plenty of heat to soften those labels. Nothing more is needed.
So many guys brought in bikes to my workshop that had heat gun damages. It was sickening to look at as most were brand new bikes.
Heat guns have lower settings. Only use it to warm it a bit, not cook it. I guess I am used to heat guns, I worked in a radial engine overhaul shop for a couple of years. We used heat guns extensively.

That is exactly how to do it.I used my wife's hair dryer at lowest heat setting. Took it slow and easy and label peeled off without too much fuss. I used Chemical Bros Matt Cleaner/Shine product afterwards and you can hardly see the sticker outline.
